Reverend David Newlove
Circuit Superintendent
David joined us in 2018 after 23 years of rural ministry in Lincolnshire. He is passionate about his faith and the Church and is keen to develop models of contextual, sustainable mission and ministry. For him ministry has to involve everyone and mission is as much a part of a Christian’s life as praying and studying the Bible. David is enthusiastic about the development of mission communities and sees the future of the Church as being together. On his day off he relaxes by watching films, baking and is currently restoring a Massey Ferguson tractor.
David’s ministry includes the following four key areas:
Circuit - David serves as Superintendent for the Circuit and has pastoral oversight of 8 churches in the City and west of Carlisle
City - an important aspect for David is the developing citywide vision across all churches as part of Movement Day UK
Chaplaincy - David can be found most weeks at the Borderway Auction Mart supporting local farmers and more broadly on the management committee of the Cumbrian Agricultural Chaplaincy. He also assists at the Cumberland Infirmary
Countywide - David is the Methodist District Mission Officer this involves him engaging with various groups under the God for All strategy
